In celebration of Local Yarn Shop Day on April 27th, the Trust Fall Shawl pattern will be available for free with purchase of yarn, inviting knitters to immerse themselves in a project that blends comfort with handcrafted elegance. This pattern calls for approximately 750 yards (686 meters) of DK weight yarn to capture its graceful flow and drape.
The original design was crafted using two balls of Jody Long Alba, a yarn that epitomizes luxury and environmental responsibility. Composed of a rich blend of Merino Wool, Superfine Alpaca, and a touch of viscose from sustainable German forestry, this tweedy yarn adds a subtle, sophisticated texture to the shawl. Additional yarn suggestions will be provided, offering a variety of textures and colors to personalize this wearable piece of art.
Required materials for the Trust Fall Shawl include:
- Yarn: 750 yards of DK weight. Jody Long Alba recommended, with additional yarn suggestions available to customize the shawl.
- Needles: A US 7/4.5 mm 32"/80 cm circular needle, or whichever size needed to achieve the desired gauge.
- Markers: 3 locking stitch markers for the garter tab start and 2 regular stitch markers to delineate the shawl’s elegant borders.
Shoppers who preorder the yarn will receive a pattern code by email on Friday April 26. Codes will be good through 11:59PM Sunday (no extensions)
